SA Rugby magazine has been South Africa’s best-selling rugby magazine since 1995. Read by the Springboks, it covers every corner of the game and offers something for every rugby fan.
The first issue, dated April 1995 and featuring Springbok wing Chester Williams on the cover, went on sale two months before South Africa hosted the Rugby World Cup. By 2026, more than 350 issues had been published.
The April 2005 issue marked the magazine’s 100th edition, followed by its 200th in May 2014 and 300th in November 2022.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary in April 2015, SA Rugby magazine selected the 20 best Springboks since 1995. A decade later, in April 2025, it marked its 30th anniversary by selecting the 30 best Springboks of the previous three decades.
The biggest issue in the magazine’s history was the 260-page 2011 World Cup preview, surpassing the 236-page 2007 World Cup preview.
